Sheeba / Sheecla
2023-11-20
to Sheeba and sheecla
A whimsical night
And a morning dew
Here is my poem to you
On the days
Where wind huddles in solitude
Crevices of cement
Stillness in no feud
A gap exists
Where one meets one
Atop this hill
Beneath the sun
I see her move
From left to right
Beyond her years
Arms extended for flight
Buttercups graze
Under her balls (of feet)
A cookbook in the making
Oh, how she loves fall!
What a woman to be
Fluid in reach
rooted down like a tree
She murmurs within
And a croak comes out
Who knew there was a toad
Behind that snout
The croak begins a chant
From hum bug to lum snug
I care for her so deeply
Imagining our hands clasped around mugs
A Sheeba to me
And a shira to you
Oh how much I feel
When were investigating clues
A body that dances
In orbs we create
On those early mornings
In law class we partake
I am your friend
From the womb and beyond
Thank you for you
And may we continue in song
